Founded in 1925, Mesa State College is a comprehensive regional public higher education institution offering liberal arts, professional, and technical programs at the master's, bachelor's, associate, and certificate levels. Our 78-acre main campus, nestled between mountains and high-desert canyons, is located in the heart of Grand Junction, Colorado. This dynamic and growing city offers the ideal mix of the amenities of an urban area with the welcoming atmosphere of a small town. Our campus is just minutes from some of the best outdoor recreation in the country - with Aspen, Telluride, and Moab all just a short drive away.
With enrollment just over 6,200, Mesa State offers a personal, hands-on learning environment in a safe, small-school atmosphere. We take great pride in providing educational opportunities and tools that help students succeed in today's complex and interconnected world. Our renowned professors are dedicated to teaching, and with low student-to-teacher ratios we get to personally know and take an interest in the lives of our students. Mesa State remains one of the most affordable colleges in Colorado with an extensive offering of scholarships and financial aid programs to make college affordable.
At Mesa State, athletics play a key role in the growth of our students and are an integral part of the college experience. Mesa State competes in 17 NCAA Division II athletic teams as a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Our athletic teams have won more than 55 conference championships over the years and continue to achieve national rankings.
