Jun 25, 2008	MSC’s Sergio Romo called up to the Majors Mesa State’s former ace on the mound, Sergio Romo, was called up Monday afternoon by the San Francisco Giants front office. Romo, a reliever for the Connecticut Defenders, the Giants Double-A affiliate joined the club in Cleveland.

Tedder replaces Brent Hanson, who resigned in February after three years in the driver’s seat. Tedder comes to WNMU after one year as an assistant women’s basketball coach at East Texas Baptist University (ETBU).

Jan 8, 2008	Senior Tara Kirkpatrick Earns NSCAA Academic All-American Regis University women’s soccer star Tara Kirkpatrick was named Second Team Academic All-American by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. The senior from Lincoln, Neb. was one of only 33 student-athletes to earn the award in the College Division, which is comprised of schools competing in NCAA Div. II and III and NAIA Div. I and II. In 2006, Kirkpatrick earned a spot on the First Team Academic All-American squad.

He has been going full speed since he was named the Colorado State University-Pueblo head wrestling coach on Aug. 21. Dec 14, 2007	Windsor Headed to Cactus Bowl Senior Rod Windor (Bessemer, AL) has been selected to play in the Valero Cactus Bowl. The wide receiver will represent the Mustangs in the January 11 contest in Kingsville, Texas. The Cactus Bowl is played in an East/West format and the teams are comprised entirely of the ‘best of the best’ NCAA Division II college seniors.

Tyler McNitt, 6’4 230, is a wide receiver from the University of Nebraska at Kearney and his size/speed combination make him an interesting prospect to next level personnel. McNitt a tight end or H-back on the next level, but he has had a solid year receiving for the Lopers finishing third in receptions (28) and second in touchdowns (six).
