All-RMAC Volleyball and major awards announced

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mines’ Danielle Johnson-Hazlewood was named Player and Setter of the Year as the 2015 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Volleyball major awards and All-RMAC teams were announced on Tuesday.
It was the second straight year Johnson-Hazlewood has earned both Player and Setter of the Year honors. The senior helped lead the Orediggers to an RMAC regular-season title and the top seed in this week’s RMAC Tournament. She leads the conference in assists per set (12.37).
Joining Johnson-Hazlewood as major award winners were CSU-Pueblo’s Oni Lattin (Defensive Player of the Year), Colorado Mesa’s Taylor Woods (Freshman of the Year), Western New Mexico’s Jim Callender (Co-Coach of the Year) and Western State’s Keven John (Co-Coach of the Year).
The All-RMAC First and Second Teams were also announced on Tuesday, with 14 players landing on the First Team, and 14 players landing on the Second Team. All major awards and All-RMAC honors were voted on by the league’s 16 head volleyball coaches. They were not allowed to vote for their own players.
All players who received at least one First Team or two Second Team votes were included in Honorable Mention.
