COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference men’s and women’s swimming and diving finished up Week 7 of action.

On the women’s side, Western hosted CSU-Pueblo in a conference dual meet on Friday. The Mountaineers won the dual 136.5 to 96.5, claiming victory in nine of 13 events.
 
Senior diver Jessica Anderson was the highlight of the night, breaking a 25-year old school and pool record scoring 418.50 points on the 11-dives list. Her score is the third-best result in the nation and deemed to be eligible to be qualified for the NCAA Division II Diving Zone meet.
 
Other notable Mountaineers who won their event include Randi Yarnell (200-free, 200-medley, 500-free), Ariel Fitch (50-free), Morgan Aragon (100-free), Ma’alaea Lawrence (100-breast), Akemi King (400 IM), 200 medley relay team, and 200 free relay team.
 
The ThunderWolves’ Stefany Busch earned her first win with a first-place score of 180.75 at the 1-meter dive. Jade Irick also notched a win for the Pack winning the 100-fly. Teammate April McDonough won the 1,000-free and Arianna Rohde dominated in the 100-backstroke for first place.
 
Oklahoma Baptist was back in action after taking a couple weeks off. The Bison won 11 individual events on the women’s side.
 
Tamlyn Price won the 50-free (24.32) and 100-back (58.37); Blandine Tantart won the 100-free; Jocleyn Martinez won the 200-free and 500-free.
 
Other wins came from Suzanne Afchain (200-back), Miriam Avila Martinez (100-breast), Leslie White (200-breast), Faith Moss (100-fly), and Juliana Cifuentes (200-fly, 200 IM).
 
Earning wins for the Bison men include Jonathan Stewart (200-free, 500-free), Julien Goyetche (100-back), Nico Brun (200-back), Thomas Peterson (100-breast), Marc Sambolin (100-fly) and Felipe Ramirez (200-fly).
 
CBU hosted the Lancer Diving Invitational on Saturday in Riverside, California. The Lancers went head-to-head with fellow DII UC San Diego consisting of an 11-dive list for both boards.
 
For the women, CBU had the top two finishers on both boards with Bre Schlenger (1-meter) and Lauren Skinner (3-meter) setting new 11-dive records. Schlenger scored 463.25 points on the 1-meter board, while Skinner scored 460.25 points on the 3-meter board.
 
On the men’s side, Zach Parry and Anrew Rotundo were the highlight of the meet. Parry took first on the 1-meter board and set two new records for the Lancers. The junior, 2016 RMAC Preseason Men’s Diver of the Year won the 1-meter board with a score of 544.80 points and scored a 567.75 on the 3-meter board.
 
Teammate Rotundo qualified for nationals with 11-dive scores of 446.24 and 488.25 on the 1-meter and 3-meter board, respectively.  His 3-meter score is good enough for third-best in CBU history.
