UCCS takes home RMAC Men's Golf Tournament title

GOODYEAR, Ariz. – UCCS defeated Colorado Mines 3-1-1 in the medal-match final of the 2016 RMAC Men’s Golf Tournament to take home the tournament crown on Tuesday at the Golf Club of Estrella.
 
Western New Mexico’s Calum Hill took home won the individual title with a combined score of 136 (-8). The senior carded a 5-under par 67 on Tuesday to win the tournament by five strokes.
 
In the final, UCCS got wins from Chris Reina, Zach Berhost and Colin Prater to secure the title.
 
Reina defeated Taylor MacKay by four strokes, carding a 1-under 71. Berhost defeated Conrad Smith by seven strokes after turning in a 1-over 73. Prater beat Nick Berry by 13 strokes after carding a 3-under 69.
 
Colorado Mines’ Mike McNulty was the Orediggers’ only golfer to win his match after he beat Kyle Southard by four strokes. McNulty recorded an even-par 72 to notch the win.
 
UCCS’ Zach Trip and Colorado Mines’ George Markham ended up halving their match, as both golfers finished with 3-over 75s on Tuesday.
 
Prater was the top individual finisher for the Mountain Lions. He ended tied for second overall with a two-round score of 141 (-3). He carded an even-par 72 on Monday before carding his 3-under 69 on Tuesday.
 
The Mountain Lions had three players finish inside the top 10. Reina joined Prater on the All-Tournament Team after finishing in the top five. He finished fifth with a score of 146 (+2).
 
Tripp finished tied for seventh with a combined score of 149 (+5). He carded a 2-over 74 on Monday to go along with his 3-over 75 on Tuesday.
 
Colorado Mines was led by McNulty, who finished tied for seventh with a two-round score of 149 (+5).
 
CSU-Pueblo’s Jacob Allenback earned All-Tournament honors, finishing tied for second with Prater. Allenback carded a 7-under 65, the lowest round of the tournament, on Tuesday to catapult into the top five. He finished with a two-round score of 141 (-3).
 
Colorado Christian’s Luke Condon also earned All-Tournament honors with a two-round score of 142 (-2). He carded a 3-under 69 on Tuesday to jump into the top five.
