RMAC Football Kicks Off NCAA DII National TV Package
INDIANAPOLIS – NCAA Division II Football will have 22 games broadcast nationally on ESPN3, WatchESPN and the American Sports Network in the 2016 season. This more than triples the number of games broadcast in 2015.
Highlighting that list is an RMAC opening-night contest sure to draw plenty of interest on ESPN3. CSU-Pueblo will travel to Colorado Mines on Thursday, Sept. 1, the first day of competition in the 2016 football season.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (Mountain Time) at Marv Kay Stadium. The game, perennially one of the most important in the RMAC schedule, will feature two teams both in the Sporting News Preseason Top 25.
Colorado Mines finished tied for third in the RMAC last season, going 8-3 overall and 6-3 in conference play. The Orediggers got out to a red-hot start, winning their first seven games before dropping three straight.
The ThunderWolves went 12-2 in 2015, winning the RMAC with a perfect 9-0 record. It was their fifth straight RMAC Football title. They reached the NCAA Division II Quarterfinals for the third time in the last four years. The Pack were ranked No. 5 in both the American Football Coaches Association and D2Football.com final national polls.
ESPN3 is ESPN's live multi-screen sports network, a destination that delivers thousands of exclusive sports events annually. It is accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices through WatchESPN. The network is currently available nationwide at no additional cost to fans who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider. It is also available at no cost to U.S. college students and U.S.-based military personnel via computers, smartphones and tablets connected to on-campus educational and on-base military broadband and Wi-Fi networks.
