Women's Basketball All-RMAC Teams Announced Tuesday

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- CSU-Pueblo's Molly Rohrer headlines the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) women's basketball All-Conference team announced Tuesday.

Rohrer was one of three players to pick up a major award, receiving RMAC Player of the Year honors. Teammate Katie Cunningham was also honored as the conference Defensive Player of the Year as Fort Lewis' Kayla Herrera was named RMAC Freshman of the Year. ThunderWolves' coach Jim Turgeon was tabbed Coach of the Year after an impressive 26-2 season and RMAC regular season title.

The major awards, along with the All-RMAC First and Second Teams were voted on by the conference's 15 head coaches. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own players.

Ten athletes were honored on the All-Conference First Team as well as the Second Team. The ThunderWolves had the most players on the All-Conference teams, as Tuileisu Anderson joined Rohrer and Cunningham on the First Team. UCCS and MSU Denver each had three players honored on the all-conferene teams as Colorado Mesa, Fort Lewis, Colorado School of Mines and Regis had two players apiece. Chadron State, Colorado Christian and South Dakota Mines had one player each honored on the All-Conference teams.

Rohrer averaged 15.4 points per game this season while adding 61 blocks to lead the conference. She shot 51.9-percent from the field this season, helping the ThunderWolves capture the RMAC regular season title.
