McCowan Named RMAC Director of Championships and Business Operations

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced Thursday the hiring of Kirsten McCowan as Director of Championships and Business Operations.
 
McCowan joins the RMAC Office after spending the past year at the Big 12 Conference as the Championships Assistant.
 
“The RMAC Office is very excited about the addition of Kirsten to our administrative team,” said RMAC Commissioner Chris Graham. “She brings with her experiences at both an institution and conference office, along with knowledge of Division II and the South Central Region. Kirsten is a perfect fit for this position and we expect great things from her.”
 
During her time at the Big 12, McCowan assisted with preparations for the conference championships and tournaments, awards programs, and other administrative duties.
 
Prior to the Big 12, McCowan received her Master’s degree at the University of Oklahoma (OU). She served as the graduate assistant in the OU athletics department, working with in event management and compliance.  In 2014, McCowan earned her Bachelor’s degree at West Texas A&M University (WTAMU). She was an NCAA Division II student-athlete for the Lady Buffs in volleyball and track and field. McCowan also worked in the WTAMU Athletics Department where she served as the media assistant for men’s and women’s cross country and track and field.
 
“I am so excited about getting back to my Division II roots and joining the RMAC staff,” stated McCowan. “Championships were a very memorable part of my student-athlete experience and have positively impacted the way I plan events. I look forward to serving the RMAC member institutions in my role as Director of Championships and Business Operations.”
 
McCowan will begin her duties July 5.
