COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— University of Colorado Colorado Springs received the second annual Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Cup for the 2017-18 academic year.

The RMAC SAAC Cup is presented to the institutional SAAC that accrues the most points over four different initiatives - average number of community service hours per student-athlete during the academic year, amount of canned food raised during one month, number of “It’s On Us” pledges collected, and total funds raised to support local causes and charities during the academic year (2017-18).

This year, the Mountain Lions topped the RMAC with 3,900 points. They raised over $700, collected over 750 canned items and racked up 12.5 hours of community service per student-athlete.

UCCS SAAC will be honored for their hard work on Monday, Nov. 26 during the halftime of the men’s UCCS basketball game versus Colorado College. That contest is set for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off.

Colorado School of Mines won last year’s inaugural cup.
