COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— This past weekend, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee’s (SAAC) from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) and Mountain West Conference joined together for an incredible community service event and meetings while Adam State was awarded the third annual RMAC SAAC Cup for the 2018-19 academic year.

This weekend marked this first time the RMAC and Mountain West teamed up to help provide the student-athletes in each conference a unique experience. On Saturday, the two conferences hosted a joint community service event at the Hillside Community Center in partnership with Hillside Connection. On Sunday, they had the opportunity to sit down with each other and go over hot topics that affect student-athletes regardless of what division they are in.

The RMAC SAAC Cup is presented to the institutional SAAC that accrues the most points over four different initiatives - average number of community service hours per student-athlete during the academic year, amount of canned food raised during one month, number of “It’s On Us” video competition, and total funds raised to support local causes and charities during the academic year (2018-19).

This year, the Grizzlies topped the RMAC with 4,350 points. They raised over $250, collected over 780 canned items and came in second place in the “It’s On Us” video.
