Western Colorado Claims 2021-22 RMAC SAAC Cup
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Colorado is the winner of the 2021-22 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Cup, the league announced Tuesday.
The Mountaineers’ SAAC truly committed to serving its community throughout the 2021-22 academic year averaging 15 volunteer hours per student. The Western Colorado group raised $2,175 through its volunteer efforts on its way to the latest RMAC SAAC Cup title.
While the Mountaineers lead the way in the latest RMAC SAAC standings with 2,800 points, Regis ranks second with 2,700 points. University of Colorado Colorado Springs earns the third-place position with 2,600 points, followed by Colorado Mesa in fourth place with 2,200 points. South Dakota Mines rounds out the top five with 2,100 points.
The top-five RMAC SAAC groups combined to raise over $15,000 dollars through various volunteer initiatives on their respective campuses. Western Colorado was presented with the 2021-22 RMAC SAAC Cup over the weekend at this year’s conference SAAC volunteer event.
Leading up to the Mountaineers’ trophy presentation, the RMAC SAAC group volunteered its time with the Pueblo Boys and Girls Club where they connected with the organization and its members through physical activity. The RMAC SAAC members were able to provide tutelage, in a variety of sports, to the Boys and Girls Club members.
