Salcia Slack dazzled in the triple jump at the Don Kirby Tailwind Open in Albuquerque, New Mexico, posting the 10th-best jump in NCAA Division II history. She took over the national lead in the event by more than 0.5 meters and the conference lead by nearly five meters. She wasn't done in the field, as she took the javelin title and moved up to first in the RMAC and 11th in the nation with a throw of 44.44 meters. Slack also flexed her muscles on the track as she won the 100 meter hurdles with a wind-adjusted time of 14.17 seconds to move up to 11th in the nation and take over the RMAC lead (0.09 seconds ahead of teammate Osheen Erskine). Finally, she is second in the RMAC and sixth nationally in the 200 meters with a wind adjusted time of 24.18.
