As an inductee under the Historical category, Lloyd Madden was college football’s leading scorer in 1939 with 141 points. He
ended the 1939 season rushing for 1,316 yards on 92 carries and scoring 23 touchdowns. That same year he won the Blanchard Trophy as Colorado’s Most Outstanding College Athlete. He was a two-time All-RMAC performer and was named to the Associated Press Little All-American team in 1939. In 1940 he played fo the Chicago Cardinals in the NFL. He was inducted into the
NAIA Hall of Fame in 1961 and into the Colorado Sports
Hall of Fame in 1998. During his career, he led the RMAC in scoring twice and was the RMAC Champion in the 100
and 200-yard dashes. He graduated fifth in his class of
154 in 1941 with a degree in geology.
