Regis, Men's Basketball, 1972-1976
Nearly 40 years later, DuCros is still the RMAC’s all-time leader in rebounds (1,170). He led the RMAC in rebounding in each of his four seasons. He ranks first in the Regis record book in: career rebounds (1,451), single season rebounds (447 in 1973-74), in single game rebounds (33 in 1973-74), single season rebounding avg. (14.8), single season FGA (476 in 1973-74). DuCros was a four-time NAIA All-District 7 selection and was named First Team All-RMAC three times. In 1975-76, he was selected Regis’ Athlete of the Year and was listed among “Outstanding Athletes of America” from 1974-76. Later on, DuCros had professional tryouts with the Denver Nuggets and the NFL’s Seattle Seahawks. Not only did his talent shine on the court, but also in the classroom. DuCros made the Dean’s List every semester at Regis. He earned his undergraduate degree in English in 1976 and followed up with his Master’s degree in Education 1997. DuCros became a long-time teacher in the Jefferson County school system and earned an “Outstanding Teachers of America” award in 1978. In 1988, he was inducted into the Regis University Athletic Hall of Fame.
