Colorado Mines, Wrestling/Tennis/Football/Athletic Training, 1955-1992

As the head wrestling and tennis coach, assistant football coach and head trainer, Jack Hancock contributed 37 years to Orediggers Athletics. He was the head wrestling coach during his entirety at Colorado Mines. Hancock coached the wrestling team to second-place finishes at the 1961 and 1964 NAIA National Championships. Two of his wrestlers earned NCAA All-American accolades. He coached tennis from 1955-1966 and 1979-1992 and led the Orediggers to 1974 and 1978 RMAC titles. During his time Hancock produced 33 All-Americans, including the 2011 RMAC Hall of Fame Inductee Dan Fix. He received Colorado Collegiate Coach of the Year and was inducted to the CSM, Northern Colorado, and NCAA Wrestling Hall of Fames. Hancock served as chairman of the 25-Year Service Committee of the National Wrestling Coaches Association.
