Nebraska-Kearney, Softball, 1994-1997
Timmons was named as a member of the RMAC All-Centennial team. During her time at Nebraska-Kearney she was the 1995 Co-RMAC Player of the Year with teammate Cindy Cohn, 1996 RMAC Player of the Year, and a member of the RMAC’s All-Time Softball Team. She received First Team All-RMAC and Academic All-RMAC honors three times during her career. Entering the 2016 season, Timmons was still the Lopers’ career leader in batting average (.401), doubles (49) and stolen bases (112). During her 1996 season, she set single-season records for hits (83), runs scored (66), doubles (21) and stolen bases (44). She was a part of three NCAA Tournament teams, including two that reached the Elite 8. Timmons was also a member of the tree teams that won both RMAC Regular-Season and RMAC Tournament titles. She is the only second baseman in Lopers’ history to earn All-American three times (1995-97). She was named 1996 CoSIDA Academic All-American and Academic All-District. In 2009, she was inducted into the UNK Athletic Hall of Fame. She worked as a school psychologist in the Lincoln, Nebraska Public School System for seven years, a building special education coordinator for four and is currently a district special education administrator.
