Induction Class of 2017
Softball

The UNK 1999 Softball team, coached by Dan Simmons, went 39-4 (NCAA) and won the RMAC regular season title with an undefeated record of 22-0 (does not inlude forfeited games or post-season tournament games). The Lopers would then go on to win the RMAC Tournament title, NCAA South Central Regional (3-0) title, and finish as the NCAA Division II runners-up. Two of the four losses came from Humboldt State in the Elite Eight. The 1999 team is second in UNK history for most wins, ranks second with 333 strikeouts thrown, and third with home runs and fielding percentage with 53 and a .965, respectively. That year, pitchers Amanda Kelly and Tina McCaslin, catcher Becky Sintek and infielder Darcie Berry received First Team All-RMAC honors. Other accolades included Kelly being named RMAC Pitcher of the Year and third-team All-American. Berry landed on the first-team All-American list and Simmons was named South Central Region Coach of the Year. In 2009, Berry, Kelly, Laura (Espenmiller) North, and Simmons were named to the RMAC Softball All-Time Team.
