DENVER -- May 3, 2015 --
 Lindenwood University captured the 2015 RMAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament Championship, defeating Regis University 18-8 in the championship finale on Sunday. The Lions' victory gives them their first tournament championship since joining the league as an associate member in women's lacrosse in 2014. Later, after the game, Lindenwood learned of its second-ever bid into the NCAA Championships, getting the No. 2 seed in the South Region.

The Lions rolled to a 19-7 win versus Colorado Mesa University on Saturday, behind a defensive effort that saw sophomore netminder Delaney Solomon grab seven saves on 12 shots on goal. On Sunday, Lindenwood fought through an early deficit to score a 10-point win over Regis, with Tournament MVP Melissa Menchella notching four goals, including the go-ahead score that gave the Lions the lead for good at 13:26 in the first half.

Later Sunday evening, Lindenwood learned of its NCAA postseason fate. The Lions will face Florida Southern College in the first round of the NCAA Championships and will play at home on Saturday, May 9, at Noon Central time. The game will be the first-ever NCAA regional contest hosted on Lindenwood's campus.
