CSM's Emily Garnier Headlines D2CCA All-South Central Region Team

CANYON, Texas -  Colorado Mines’ Emily Garnier named NCAA Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA) South Central Region Player of the Year.

Garnier was named RMAC Player of the Year as well as the conference Defensive Player of the Year after her junior campaign. Garnier had seven goals and eight assists from the back line, while also helping the Orediggers hold opponents to 11 goals this season.

Colorado Mines sophomore Emily Townsend joins Garnier on the first team as the Orediggers landed five players to the regional first and second teams. Forward Jaclyn Knott, Midfielder Taylor McRae and goalkeeper Sam Zumbro were all named to the second team.

RMAC Freshman of the Year Tori Rinsem was named to the first team. The Regis midfielder scored eight goals and added four assists this season.

Westminster forward Madison Roemer was named to the South Central Region Second Team. Roemer led the conference with 32 points on 13 goals and six assists.

CSU-Pueblo’s Jessica Westhoff was selected to the second team. The ThunderWolves defender helped keep nine shutouts and hold opponents to 17 goals in 19 games this season.
