COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- No. 17 Colorado Mesa finishes the conference schedule at 9-1 as Adams State claims the fourth spot in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) men’s lacrosse tournament in Week 11 action.

No. 17 Colorado Mesa defeated Westminster 15-8 in its final conference game of the regular season to improve to 14-2 on the season. The Mavericks had 10 different players score in the win over the Griffins, led by Steve Brandenburg’s three goals. Teammate Jake Douglas finished the game with four points on two goals and two assists as Michael Marino won 15 of the 21 faceoffs he took in the win. Brandenburg currently leads the conference in points per game, averaging 4.60 including 3.27 goals per game.  The Mavericks will host the RMAC men’s lacrosse tournament starting May 5, starting with their semifinals matchup against Adams State.

CSU-Pueblo earned am 11-7 win over Adams State to finish the season at 4-6 in conference play and 6-6 overall. The ThunderWolves were edged out of the conference tournament by Adams State on tiebreakers. CSU-Pueblo was led by Nick Matzek, who finished the game with five goals as teammate Blake Foerster had two goals and two assists. Anthony Ferrie had six caused turnovers for the ThunderWolves while adding five groundballs.

Maryville earned its first victory in program history on Tuesday night, taking a 17-3 win over Lindenwood-Belleville. The Saints finish the season with a 1-14 record. Nick White led the Saints, scoring four goals and dishing out three assists. Teammate Jacob Campbell finished with five goals as Austin Myers went 20-23 at the faceoff dot adding nine groundballs.

Rockhurst will be the No. 2 seed in the RMAC Tournament, taking on the No. 3 seed Westminster in the first semifinal on May 5. No. 1 seed Colorado Mesa will host the No. 4 seed Adams State in the second semifinal on Friday. The Championship game is set for a 2 p.m. faceoff on May 6.

The women’s lacrosse tournament is hosted on a rotation basis where it is played in Colorado for two years and Missouri for one year. This year, the tournament is held in Colorado, which gives hosting rights to Regis, the top RMAC team in Colorado.
