#RMACxc programs shine at South Central Regional Championship
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.—The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) cross country teams once again showed its depth and dominance at the 2019 National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II (DII) South Central Regional Championships as Adams State, Colorado School of Mines and Western all received automatic bids to both the men’s and women’s National Championship meet.

WOMEN - Results
On the women’s side it was a complete dominant showing as all 25 All-Region spots were comprised of RMAC student-athletes. On the team side, the top 8 teams and nine of the top 10 were RMAC affiliated.
Adams State showed why they have been ranked No. 1 in the national poll all year by putting five runners in the top 10 led by the individual champ, Stephanie Cotter. Cotter who won the RMAC Championship this year conversed the 6k course in a time of 20:53.50. Teammate Eilish Flanagan came in second place with a time of 21:01.75. The Grizzlies had a team score of 24 and five All-Region runners.
The Orediggers of Colorado School of Mines placed second in a program record day. The Orediggers produced the program's lowest team score, highest individual finish and most all-region runners in more than a decade. The team placed second overall with 51 points and had all seven runners earn All-Region.
Western finished with 69 team points for third overall and had their top six runners earn All-Region honors. The Mountaineers finished 53 points ahead of fourth place.
MEN - Results
The Colorado School of Mines men’s program won the NCAA South Central Regional title for the second straight year and third in the last four years. The Orediggers placed four runners inside the top 10, six all-region performers and had a team score of 41 points.
Western took home the team runner-up honors after having the top two RMAC individual performances with Charlie Sweeney (30:42.19) and Taylor Stack (30:44.17) finishing second and third, respectfully. The Mountaineers finished one point ahead of Adams State in the team race with a total of 69 points and had four land on the all-region team.
The Grizzlies of Adams State finished in third with 70 points which was 57 points ahead of fourth place. Four runners ran to all-region performances for the Grizzlies.
At-Large Bids:
In addition to Colorado School of Mines, Adams State and Western receiving automatic bids to nationals, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs earned an at-large bid for both the men and women. Joining the Mountain Lions as an at-large team was the men of Colorado Christian who will compete at nationals as a team for the first time in program history.

The 2019 NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships is set for Nov. 23 in Sacramento, Calif., at the Haggin Oaks Golf Complex. The women’s 6K race will begin at 11 a.m. MST while the men’s 10K will race at 12:15 p.m. MST.
