COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs’ (UCCS) senior Skylyn Webb and Chadron State College’s sophomore Isaac Grimes highlighted the 2019 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Outdoor Track and Field Preseason Teams after being named the Preseason Athletes of the Year.
The preseason major awards, coaches polls and preseason All-RMAC teams were voted on by the conferences’ head coaches. Coaches were not allowed vote for their own student-athletes.
PRESEASON ATHLETES OF THE YEAR
Webb was named the RMAC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year in 2018. Last campaign, she took first in the women's 400m dash at the RMAC Championships, earning her First-Team honors. The Delta, Colorado native finished the 2018 season with All-American honors and a national championship title in the women's 800m run with a time of 2:02.47.
Grimes finished last campaign as was one of the nation's top freshman after earning First Team All-American honors in long jump (fifth place) at nationals. Grimes won the 2018 RMAC outdoor track and field long jump and triple jump titles, while setting a program record in triple jump with a distance of 15.15-meters. At the end of the year he was named the RMAC Field Athlete of the Year and Freshman of the Year.
PRESEASON COACHES POLLS
On the women’s side, UCCS earned five first-place votes and was selected to win the RMAC team crown with 184 points. Adams State garnered the most first-place votes with six, but was selected to finish second with 177 points
Western picked up one first-place vote and was selected to finish in third, while Colorado School of Mines and New Mexico Highlands tied for fourth place. New Mexico Highlands also earned the remaining three first-place votes.

For the men’s coaches poll, Colorado School of Mines earned nine first place votes for 139 points as they were picked to win the RMAC title this season. Adams State was picked to finish in second with three votes as they finished with 121 points. UCCS rounded out the top three, one point behind with 120 points. The Mountain Lions also tallied the final first-place vote.
