2019 RMAC Hall of Fame Inductees: Part 2

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) is pleased to announce the induction of two more standout, former student-athletes into the RMAC Hall of Fame, Class of 2019.

Tom Beeson
Western – Football, Wrestling

1964-1968
Tom Beeson was a two-sport student-athlete for Western from 1964-1968. He was a four-year letter winner in football and a three-year letter winner in wrestling. In football, Beeson was a three-time All-RMAC selection as a defensive tackle and played on three RMAC Championship teams (1964-1966).

For wrestling, he was a two-time RMAC Heavyweight Champion (1966, 1968) and an RMAC runner-up. Beeson was an NCAA DII National Champion in 1966 and tallied three NCAA College Division and two University Division All-American honors.

In 1969, Beeson graduated from Western, and four years later he started the first-ever wrestling program at Pomona High School (1973). Beeson would remain the head coach until he retired in 2002. During his coaching tenure, he guided the team to two state championships (2000, 2001) and produced 17 individual state champions.

Beeson has been inducted into four Hall of Fames starting with the Western Colorado University Hall of Fame in 1997. A year later, he was inducted into the NCAA Division II Wrestling Hall of Fame Class of 1998, and in 2003 and 2006 he was inducted in to the Colorado High School Coaches Association (CHSCA) and Jeffco Athletic Hall of Fame, respectively.
 
Kristin (Shern) Dudley
Adams State – Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field
1990-1995
Kristin (Shern) Dudley was the 1994 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Champion in the 5,000-meter run en route to earning 17-time All-American during her 1990-95 running career at Adams State.  She earned All-American honors in all four years of cross country and was a member of the Grizzlies’ first three NCAA DII Women’s Cross Country National Championship teams (1992-94). Adams State would garner five more national championship titles in as many years (1995-1999).

Dudley graduated from Adams State in 1995 with a Liberal Arts/Elementary Education degree.  After college she ran professionally for several more years and was an Olympic Training Center Resident Athlete in Chula Vista, Calif. She represented Nike, Asics, Fila and Reebok at various stages of her career.

In 2008, she was inducted into the Adams State Hall of Fame and in 2015, Dudley was inducted into the RMAC Hall of Fame as a member of the 1991-1999 Adams State Women’s Cross Country teams.
 
Beeson and Dudley will be inducted at the 2019 RMAC Hall of Fame & Awards Banquet on Friday, July 12 at the Colorado Springs Marriott Hotel.
