FULL RELEASE
COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.—Men’s lacrosse has only one undefeated team in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) and that is Westminster.
TEAM HIGHLIGHTS
- Westminster saw their winning streak extend to three games after defeating Adams State (12-6) and CSU-Pueblo (15-11).
- After falling to Westminster last week, Colorado Mesa rebounded and won three games in a row. They defeated Johnson & Wales (52-0), CSU-Pueblo (21-7) and Adams State (17-5).
RMAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
- In the Mavericks 3-0 weekend Brandon Wilson recorded 11 goals and five assists to be named RMAC Offensive Player of the Week. He totaled a career-high five goals against CSU-Pueblo. In the game against Adams State he recorded a man-up goal and grabbed two ground balls. He totaled four ground balls over the weekend.
- As the Mavericks faceoff man Michael Marino was good for 63-of-67 faceoffs and totaled 41 ground balls over the 3-0 weekend to be named RMAC Defensive Player of the Week.
INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
- Kolton Atkinson tallied ten points in two strong performances for Westminster. He scored eight goals and assisted two, was 14-of-18 shots on goal and scored the game winner against CSU-Pueblo on Sunday.
- Anthony Ferrie scored five goals and had four assists for 4.5 points per game for CSU-Pueblo. He surpassed 100 career points despite playing defense for the first two seasons of his career.
- Ian Sime of Westminster faced 46 shots and made 15 saves, a career and season high, to help keep the Griffins in front of the Thunderwolves.
- Devin Thrower of CSU-Pueblo averaged 3.5 ground balls per game. He also caused 1.5 turnovers per game.
