Colorado Springs, COLO. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) has announced the 2020 Cross Country All-Conference awards on Tuesday. Colorado School of Mines’ Dylan Ko and Zoe Baker headline the All-RMAC teams receiving Runner of the Year honors.

The major award winners and the First and Second All-RMAC teams were decided at the 2020 RMAC Cross Country Championships. The top 14 runners earned All-RMAC First Team honors and runners finishing 15-28 earned All-RMAC Second Team.

RMAC RUNNERS OF THE YEAR
For the second straight year, Dylan Ko of Colorado School of Mines has earned RMAC Men’s Runner of the Year after earning the Individual Title at the RMAC Championships. Ko used a similar strategy from last year as he remained in the lead pack for most of the race. With about 1K remaining Ko made his move and ultimately crossed the line in a time of 24:18.4. He became the first-ever Oredigger to win back-to-back individual crowns.

Zoe Baker had an incredible weekend for Colorado School of Mines as Baker not only was named the RMAC Summit Award winner before the race, she went on to become the first Oredigger to be crowned the Individual Women’s Cross Country Champion in program history. Baker distanced herself from the lead pack with just over 2K to go and finished strong with a time of 21:11.5. Baker is also the first runner not from Adams State or Western Colorado to win the women's individual title since 2010 and just the fourth since 1981.

RMAC FRESHMEN OF THE YEAR
Loic Scomparin was named the RMAC Freshman of the Year making it back-to-back years for Colorado School of Mines earning this award. Scomparin placed sixth overall with a time of 24:32.4.

Kira MacGill of Colorado Mesa was named the RMAC Women’s Freshman of the Year. MacGill led the Mavericks with a 16th place finish in a time of 22:34.0.

RMAC COACHES OF THE YEAR
Colorado School of Mines’ Chris Siemers was voted on by the coaches as the RMAC Coach of the Year on the men’s side for the second straight year. He led his team to back-to-back RMAC Cross Country Championship titles marking the second time in program history the Orediggers have accomplished this feat.  Only Western Colorado and Colorado Christian had more than one runner finish before all eight of Mines' men crossed the line as the Orediggers scored 28 points (32 points ahead of second).

Jennifer Michel of Western Colorado was voted on by the coaches as the RMAC Coach of the Year on the women’s side. Michel’s led the Mountaineers to their eighth conference title and first once since 2011. Western Colorado had their top-five runners in the top-17 to score 42 points (17 points ahead of second).
