COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa University’s (CMU) Brittany Dixon and Lane Austin were named the 2019-20 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Swimming and Diving Academic Athletes of the Year, announced on Thursday.
 
A total of 112 student-athletes (41 men, 71 women) received RMAC All-Academic recognition this year.
 
First Team All-Academic and the major award winners were nominated and voted on by the swimming and diving sports information directors. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must carry at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average (GPA) and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters.
 
Brittany Dixon is a senior sporting a 3.81 GPA while majoring in Political Science. In the pool, Dixon swept the 1 & 3-meter events to be named RMAC Championship Diver of the Meet for the third straight year. Additionally, she was named 2019-20 RMAC Diver of the Year. She has earned All-RMAC honors in all eight possible opportunities throughout her career. Dixon is a four-time CSCAA All-American, Sportswoman of Colorado Award Winner, 2018-19 Google Cloud/CoSIDA Academic All-American, three-time First Team CSCAA Scholar All-American, two-time First Team RMAC All-Academic and a ten-time RMAC Diver of the Week honoree.
 
Lane Austin is a Business Administration/Hospitality Management sophomore with a 3.93 GPA. Austin, a 2019 CSCAA Scholar All-American, has won three RMAC titles and earned six All-RMAC certificates in 2020. Austin now has ten career All-RMAC awards and four RMAC titles in his 2-year career. He won the 100 back and swam the lead-off legs on the Mavericks’ RMAC winning 200 and 400 medley relay teams. The sophomore finished third in the 200 back and second in both the 200 and 400 free relays.
