UCCS' Austin Leads #RMACtf All-Academic Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO— Maia Austin of University of Colorado – Colorado Springs was named the 2019-20 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Indoor Track & Field Academic Athlete of the Year.
 
Austin, along with the other First Team All-Academic team members, were voted on by the conference’s sports information directors. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters.
 
All student-athletes who meet those requirements, but were not voted First Team, automatically qualify for Honor Roll.
 
Austin, a junior from Colorado Springs, Colorado is majoring in exercise science and possesses a 4.00 grade-point average (GPA). Austin was the 2020 RMAC Summit Award winner for women’s indoor track and field who obtained a silver medal finish in the women’s mile at the Indoor RMAC Championships. She ran the 15th fastest mile in the division II and qualified for the Division II National Championships in the mile & Distance
 
Colorado School of Mines had the most representatives on the All-Academic list with 18 total and five being named to first team. In all a total of 132 student-athletes received All-Academic honors.
