Cougars’ Searle, Griffins’ Anderson Claim RMAC Cross Country Runner of the Week Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Christian’s Ryder Searle and Westminster’s Saydi Anderson are the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Runners of the Week, respectively, the league announced Wednesday.
 
Searle led the No. 5-ranked Cougars to the team title with a second-place individual finish at the Lewis Crossover in Romeoville, Ill., crossing the finish line with a 24:32.7 clip in the 8k race last weekend.
 
Anderson captured a third-place individual finish at the Fort Hays State Tiger Open in Hays, Kan., pacing the Griffins to a first-place team last weekend. She completed the 5k race with a time of 17:50.21 to lead the way for Westminster.
 
Men’s XC Runner of the Week: Ryder Searle, Colorado Christian – Sr. – Pagosa Springs, Colo.
Searle was the second overall finisher at the Lewis Crossover with a time of 24:32.70 in the 8k event. The senior led the Cougars to the team title as Colorado Christian beat six nationally-ranked teams, including co-No. 1 Grand Valley State. Colorado Christian's top-five scorers all finished among the top-30 competitors with its top-three runners placing in the top-10.
 
Women’s XC Runner of the Week: Saydi Anderson, Westminster – Jr. – Rupert, Idaho
Anderson finished third overall in the Fort Hays State Tiger Open, tallying three points to lead the Griffins to the team championship. The Rupert, Idaho, native registered an average mile time of 5:44.1 to lead all RMAC competitors in attendance at the event. Westminster placed five runners among the top-35 finishers, scoring 99 points as a team. The Griffins topped the field of 17 Division II programs competing at the meet.
