Burroway, Rupprecht, Stokes Claim RMAC Volleyball Player of the Week Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Regis’ Caitlyn Burroway, Western Colorado’s Elizabeth Rupprecht and Colorado School of Mines’ Drew Stokes are the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Volleyball Players of the Week, the league announced Monday.
 
Burroway claims Offensive Player of the Week after pushing the Rangers to a pair of wins over Adams State and New Mexico Highlands over the weekend with a combined 35 kills. The League City, Texas, native closed out the weekend with a .324 hitting percentage after recording 20 kills against the Grizzlies on Friday and 15 more kills against the Cowgirls on Saturday. The award marks her second weekly honor of the season.
 
Rupprecht stamps her first Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season after leading the Mountaineers to a 1-1 record last weekend. The junior tabbed 44 digs over six sets for the Mountaineers, improving WCU to a 13-11 overall record and an 8-8 mark in conference play.
 
For the fourth time this season and the second-straight week, Stokes secures Setter of the Week distinctions after leading the No. 11-ranked Orediggers to an unbeaten weekend in conference play. The senior dealt 38 assists in each match for Mines, leading her squad to a pair of sweeps over Westminster and Colorado Mesa.
 
Offensive Player of the Week: Caitlyn Burroway, Regis – Gr. – OH – League City, Texas
Burroway was effective in back-to-back matches for the Rangers, pushing her squad to a perfect 2-0 weekend, where she finished with 35 kills and 16 digs. In the four-set win over Adams State, Burroway registered a double-double with 20 kills, 12 digs and a .261 hitting percentage. The following night, she stamped 15 kills over three sets to finish with a .429 hitting percentage against New Mexico Highlands.
 
Defensive Player of the Week: Elizabeth Rupprecht, Western Colorado – Jr. – DS – Bennington, Neb.
In her two appearances over the weekend, Rupprecht was all over the court recording 44 digs over six sets of action. On Friday, the junior defensive specialist registered a match-high 25 digs in a loss on the road to the No. 1 MSU Denver. She then followed up with 19 more digs in a Saturday sweep at Colorado Christian.
 
Setter of the Week: Drew Stokes, Colorado School of Mines – Sr. – S – Murphysboro, Ill.
Once again, Stokes was a maestro for the Orediggers’ offense as she compiled 76 assists over six sets, which pushed Colorado School of Mines to a pair of sweeps over the Griffins and the Mavericks. The senior was instrumental with 12.67 assists per set to go along with 13 digs, six kills, four service aces and a trio of blocks.
