2020-21 #RMACvb All-RMAC Team Announced

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) has announced the 2020-21 Volleyball All-Conference awards. Colorado Mesa’s Maddi Foutz and Sabrina Vanderlist, Regis’ Haley Kennedy and Colorado School of Mines’ Drew Stokes headline the All-RMAC teams receiving Player of the Year honors.

The major award winners and the First and Second All-RMAC teams were nominated and voted on by the conference’s 14 competing volleyball head coaches. Coaches were not allowed to vote for their own student-athletes.
 

Major Award Winners

Player of the Year- Maddi Foutz, Colorado Mesa

Setter of the Year – Drew Stokes, Colorado School of Mines

Defensive Player of the Year – Haley Kennedy, Regis

Freshman of the Year – Sabrina VanDeList, Colorado Mesa

Coach of the Year – Dave Fleming, Colorado Mesa

 

RMAC Players of the Year

In her second year with the program after transferring from Colorado State University, Colorado Mesa’s Maddi Foutz has been voted the RMAC Player of the Year after she led the Mavericks to their first RMAC Regular Season Championship since the 2014 by going an undefeated 14-0. 

Foutz is known for getting it done all across the floor as an outside hitter and libero/defensive specialist. The Bayfield native leads the team with 3.45 points per set and in digs with 144 total on the season. Foutz was also the RMAC Player of the Week back in Week 1 of the season. 

Haley Kennedy led the Regis Rangers and the entire conference in digs this season with 255 which is also 20th best in the entire nation. Kennedy led the Rangers defense that was the fourth best in the conference this year with an opponent hitting percentage of .153. 

Drew Stokes is the Setter of the Year following a season where she led the entire conference in assists per set with 11.36. Stokes was the RMAC Setter of the Week four times this season. 

CMU’s Sabrina VanDeList got the Freshman of the Year nod in a season where she dished out 328 assists which led the team and was ninth in the conference in assists per set. VanDeList was also named RMAC Setter of the Week on multiple occasions this season. 

 

RMAC Coach of the Year

Dave Fleming from Colorado Mesa has been named this year’s RMAC Coach of the Year. This is the fourth time Fleming has won the award after being with the Mavericks since the 2005 season. Fleming led his team to their first regular season title since 2014 and accomplished the only undefeated regular season in RMAC history.
