2020-21 RMAC Soccer All Academic teams announced

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO - Both men’s and women’s soccer Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) All Academic teams were released on Tuesday. Regis’ Kristian Hooker headlined the men’s team while Tarah Patterson of UC-Colorado Springs (UCCS) and Litzy Serna of CSU Pueblo shared the honor as Academic Player of the Year for the women.
First Team All-Academic members, were voted on by the conference's sports information directors. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters.
Kristian Hooker is the men’s Academic Player of the Year after also winning the 2021 RMAC Summit Award. Hooker is a biochemistry major and carries a 4.0 GPA. Back in 2019, he made the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team and was also the 2019 RMAC Summit Award Winner. This season, Hooker led the Rangers this season with five points and two goals.
There was a tie for women’s Academic Player of the Year between Tarah Patterson and Litzy Serna. Patterson who is earning her Master's in Business Administration, carries 4.00 GPA and is fresh off of being named the RMAC Player of the Year. She was also All-RMAC First Team selection after leading the RMAC in goals per game (7.78) and points (17). This year, Patterson became the UCCS’ all-time points leader with 69.
Litzy Serna was this year’s RMAC Summit Award winner. The thunderwolf holds a 4.00 GPA and is double major in EXPER and World Language (Spanish). Serna led the Pack this season with five goals and 12 points. She scored three game winning goals for CSU Pueblo and led the team to their first-ever RMAC Tournament title.
