2021 #RMACsb All Academic Team and Honor Roll announced

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – Sydney Marchando of Colorado School of Mines has been named the 2021 Softball Academic Player of the Year. Hinson headlines the honorees for the 2021 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) All-Academic team.

Marchando carries a 3.992 GPA and majors in Chemical Engineering. This season, she was named an All-RMAC Second Team selection and was the 2021 RMAC Summit Award winner. In her senior season, Marchando had a 3.32 ERA and 9-5 record in 111.2 innings pitched. 

She led the Orediggers with a .272 opposing average and 84 strikeouts to only 18 walks  and finished career in the Mines all-time top-6 in career ERA, wins, and strikeouts. Sydney was also the winner of CSM's Waltman Award given to the school's top graduating senior.  

The RMAC First Team All-Academic members were voted on by the conference's sports information directors. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters.
