2020-21 RMAC Brechler Award Winners Announced

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) has announced the winners of the 2020-21 Brechler Awards, which recognize the conference’s top-team GPA for each of its 21 league-sponsored sports.

For the third time in four years, Westminster leads the league after garnering an impressive 10 awards in women’s basketball, men’s cross country, women’s cross country, men’s golf, women’s golf, men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, women’s indoor track & field, women’s outdoor track & field and volleyball.

Colorado School of Mines came in next with five Brechler honors in baseball, football, men’s swimming & diving, men’s indoor track & field and men’s outdoor track & field. Regis locked up a trio of awards in men’s soccer, women’s soccer and softball, while Western Colorado garnered a pair of honors in men’s basketball and wrestling. Colorado Mesa rounds out the group of Brechler Award winners for women’s swimming & diving.

The Brechler Award is named in honor of Paul W. Brechler, a former RMAC commissioner (1976-90), and his wife Wanda Brechler, who were the first inductees into the RMAC Hall of Fame. Each team's GPA is calculated by dividing the total quality points by the total number of credits for each semester. Team GPAs were submitted to the RMAC office by each institution’s compliance administrator.
