Jamie Roberts, Julia Baroth Claim RMAC Golfer of the Week Honors

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State University Pueblo’s Jamie Roberts and University of Colorado Colorado Springs’ Julia Baroth are the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Golfers of the Week, respectively, the league announced Thursday.
 
Roberts competed at the at The Writz at Mile High tournament at Bear Creek Golf Club in Denver, Colo., where he took second-place honors, following a three-way tie for first place and a subsequent playoff. The sophomore shot a 212 for the tournament and finished four strokes under par.
 
Baroth opened the season for the Mountain Lions with first-place individual finish at the CCU Swan Memorial at Todd Creek Golf Club in Lakewood, Colo. The senior topped a field of 108 competitors with a score of 216 and led UCCS to the team title.
 
Men’s Golfer of the Week: Jamie Roberts, CSU Pueblo – So. – Kinross, Scotland
Roberts closed out his season-opening tournament with a second-place finish at the Writz at Mile High tournament. After shooting a tournament-best 66 in the second round, the Kinross, Scotland, native placed second individually in the three-way playoff and registered rounds of 74, 66 and 72 for the tournament.
 
Women’s Golfer of the Week: Julia Baroth, UCCS – Sr. – Denver, Colo.
Baroth won the CCU Swan Memorial earlier this week, besting the field with a three-round score of 216 (74, 72, 70). She led the field in birdies (11), par-3 scoring (2.08) and par-4 scoring (4.07) for the tournament and recorded five birdies in the final round alone. Her final round score of 70 was the second lowest of any competitor and helped push the Mountain Lions to the tournament championship.
