Bryce Howard, Faith Kilgore Claim RMAC Golfer of the Week Honors
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – South Dakota Mines’ Bryce Howard and Colorado Christian’s Faith Kilgore are the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s and Women’s Golfers of the Week, respectively, the league announced Thursday.
Howard capped an impressive week for the Hardrockers, pushing his squad to a third-place performance with a third-place individual finish at the Beartooth Invite at Laurel Golf Club in Laurel, Mont. He claims Men’s Golfer of the Week honors after completing two rounds of play with a score of 145 to finish the tournament one stroke above par. The award marks the first of the season for Howard and the Hardrockers.
Kilgore claims her second consecutive Women’s Golfer of the Week honor after pushing the Cougars to a third-place team finish at the RJGA Shootout at Estrella at Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Ariz. The senior claimed fourth place on the individual leaderboard with an even-par score of 144. She finished second among the field in par-3 scoring with a 2.75 average.
Men’s Golfer of the Week: Bryce Howard, South Dakota Mines – Sr. – Muscatine, Iowa
Howard led the Hardrockers to a third-place team finish at the Beartooth Invite over the weekend, where he stamped a third-place individual finish. The Muscatine, Iowa, native opened with a 73 in round one and followed up with a 72 in round two.
Women’s Golfer of the Week: Faith Kilgore, Colorado Christian – Sr. – Wimberley, Texas
Kilgore claims her third top-five individual finish of the season after taking fourth-place honors for the Cougars at the RJGA Shootout at Estrella earlier this week. After leading the tournament with eight birdies, the Wimberley, Texas, product closed out the event at even par for a final score of 144.
