COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa’s Jacob Troescher and Noah Luna are the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, the league announced Thursday.

The pair each claim their first RMAC weekly honors of the 2021-22 season after pushing the Mavericks to a successful outing at the Air Force Duals in Colorado Springs, Colo., last weekend. Troescher earned his first collegiate victory after a dominant performance in the 1,000-yard freestyle, where he outpaced the second-place finisher by over 18 seconds with a time of 10:02.85. After a 22-month layoff, Luna claimed a career-high score of 310.13 in the three-meter dive to finish as the event’s top NCAA Division II competitor.

The Mavericks are back in action Friday, Jan. 21, at the BYU Tri-Meet event in Provo, Utah.

Troescher claimed his first collegiate victory in dominating fashion last week after taking top honors in the 1,000-yard freestyle event. His performance pushed the Mavericks to their 12th-consecutive RMAC dual-meet win on Friday against No. 16 Colorado School of Mines. The true freshman won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:02.85 (9:44.35-altitude adjusted) and then returned to finish second overall in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:53.81 (4:46.81-altitude adjusted), helping the Mavs top the Orediggers 149-87.

Men’s Diver of the Week: Noah Luna, Colorado Mesa – Sr. – Ontario, Calif.
Competing for the first time this season, Luna set a NCAA qualifying mark with his career-high score of 310.13 points in the three-meter board event last Friday. Luna took second-place honors in the three-meter event and earned his finish off of six dives at the Air Force Duals. He was the top Division II finisher in that event, despite suffering an injury earlier that day in the one-meter competition. His three-meter score stands as the Mavs’ best six-dive score this season and ranks him eighth nationally in the event, according to Swimcloud.
