COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa’s Ben Sampson and Isaiah Cheeks are once again the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, the league announced Wednesday.

The duo each earn their second weekly honors of the season following their exceptional performances for the Mavericks at the Denver Relays on Oct. 8. Sampson claims his latest honor after pacing five Colorado Mesa relay teams over the weekend, where the Mavs downed a pair of NCAA Division I opponents. The redshirt sophomore claimed first-place performances in each of his events over the weekend and secured a NCAA “B” cut mark of 48.32 (converted) in the 100-yard backstroke.

Cheeks was clutch for the Mavericks, once again, helping his squad down a pair of DI foes with his performances on the one-meter and three-meter diving boards. The redshirt junior anchored the Mavs’ three-meter diving contingent to a score of 310.5 for a 70-point event victory. He also anchored CMU on the one-meter board, helping his team to a third-place finish in the event.

Colorado Mesa is back in action this weekend against Wyoming in a home dual. The meet will be hosted by the Mavericks inside El Pomar Natatorium on the CMU campus in Grand Junction, Colo.
