COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines’ Meghan Slowey and Western Colorado’s Alexandra Wallis are the week three Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, the league announced Wednesday.

Slowey earns her first Swimmer of the Week honor this year following her season debut for the Orediggers over the weekend at a pair of meets. The senior’s competition list was heavy as she competed in a trio of events against a pair of NCAA Division I foes in Air Force and Nebraska Omaha on Friday. At the Air Force Triangular meet, she claimed a raw time of 11:00.0 in the 1000-yard freestyle, a mark that ranks 15th nationally this season, before performing in the 200-yard and 500-yard freestyle events. She then turned around to compete at home in the 1000-yard freestyle once again on Saturday at the Mines Triangular Meet against Colorado State and New Mexico State.

Up next, the Orediggers will travel to Alamosa, Colo., to take on Adams State on Friday, Oct. 28, beginning at 6 p.m. The two-day meet will be hosted by the Grizzlies inside Plachy Hall Pool.

Wallis earns her first RMAC Diver of the Week honor after leading the Mountaineers at the CSU Pueblo Quad Meet over the weekend in Pueblo, Colo. The freshman rose to the moment and secured the individual title on the one-meter board with a score of 211.00. She bested a field of five divers in the event during her collegiate debut.

Western Colorado will now travel to Albuquerque, N.M., on Friday, Oct. 21, where they will take on Colorado State University Pueblo and host University of New Mexico. The meet will be hosted inside UNM’s Johnson Center.
