Erin Fry, Kaitlyn Bell Named Week Two RMAC Women’s Basketball Players of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Regis’ Erin Fry and Fort Lewis’ Kaitlyn Bell are the week two Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Basketball Players of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Fry secures Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Rangers (3-1) to a perfect week with a pair of wins over Texas-Permian Basin and University of Colorado Colorado Springs. The junior guard finished the two-game stretch averaging 14 points, eight rebounds and eight assists per game and notched a triple-double with 15 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists in Tuesday’s 73-63 win over the Falcons. In a 76-58 win over the Mountain Lions, Fry played 32 minutes and finished with 13 points and four assists while shooting 60 percent from the field.
Up next, Regis will hit the road for its lone exhibition contest of the season, a tilt against University of Wyoming on Tuesday, Nov. 22. Tipoff is slated for 11 a.m. MT inside Arena-Auditorium in Laramie, Wyo., and will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network.
Bell earns RMAC Defensive Player of the Week after pacing the Skyhawks (3-1) to a pair of wins last week over Northern New Mexico College and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical. The Rigby, Idaho, native was dominant on the boards for Fort Lewis, closing the week with 10.5 rebounds per contest. Of her 21 rebounds, 14 came off the defensive glass and accompanied two blocked shots and one steal for the week. In addition to her dangerous defensive play, Bell also averaged nine points in 25.5 minutes per game for FLC.
Fort Lewis will now turn its attention to the Holiday Inn Airport Thanksgiving Classic, which will be hosted by Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction, Colo. First up for the Skyhawks is a battle against Wayne State College on Friday, Nov. 25, inside Brownson Arena. Tipoff is slated for 1 p.m. and will be broadcast on the RMAC Network.

Fry's first home weekend of the season was a historical one and was headlined by a monumental triple-double consisting of 15 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists in a total of 39 minutes against Texas-Permian Basin. Of her 15 points against the Falcons, nine came from beyond the arc, pacing the Rangers’ fast-paced offense. In Friday's non-conference matchup against UCCS, Fry was just as productive offensively, scoring 13 points for the Rangers while leading the way from the free-throw line with six successful attempts.

Bell had a career weekend for the Skyhawks over the weekend, averaging 10.5 rebounds per game in a pair of wins. Her 15-rebound effort in Saturday’s 73-72 win over Embry-Riddle ranked third among RMAC competitors in week two. The graduate student is currently averaging 7.8 rebounds per game to rank 11th in the conference in that category. In addition to her defensive prowess, she contributed a season-best 12 points in Saturday's road win over Embry-Riddle.
