Lila Dere, Jordan Barnhart Named D2CCA Women’s Soccer All-America Honorees
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA) announced the 2022 Women’s Soccer All-America rosters and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference landed two players among the organization’s 39 roster spots. Colorado Mesa striker Lila Dere and Colorado School of Mines defender Jordan Barnhart represent the RMAC as first-team selections.
Dere secures a first-team nod as a forward after closing an incredible season where she set a Colorado Mesa program scoring record after notching 23 goals throughout the 2022 campaign. The Grand Junction, Colo., native has now racked up an incredible 45 goals and 96 points throughout her career. In her latest season, Dere notched 19 starts on as many appearances for 1,380 minutes on the pitch while racking up 117 shots and 61 shots on goal for a .521 shots-on-goal percentage. The explosive striker recorded five game-winning goals and finished her season ranked first nationally for goals scored.
Barnhart also earns a first-team All-America nod after pushing the Orediggers to an appearance in the quarterfinals of the 2022 NCAA Tournament. The junior defender bolstered a stingy Colorado School of Mines defense that registered 15 shutout victories in the 2022 campaign. While she led her squad from the backline, Barnhart was no stranger to the offensive third and nabbed six goals and three assists for 15 points. Barnhart and the Orediggers’ defense limited opponents to 17 goals over 23 matches and held teams to a meager .076 shooting percentage.
