RMAC Lands Four on D2CCA Men’s Soccer All-America Rosters
POMONA, Calif. – The Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA) announced the 2022 Men’s Soccer All-America rosters and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference landed four players among the organization’s 39 roster spots. Colorado School of Mines’ Tristan Semelsberger and Lucas King each receive second-team distinctions, while Colorado State University Pueblo’s Shjon Andrews and Gabriel Campora claim first and third-team honors, respectively.
Semelsberger secures a second-team nod after leading Mines to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The graduate student ranks No. 15 in the nation with 14 goals, including four game-winners throughout the 2022 campaign. Over his 21 appearances this season, Semelsberger racked up 56 shots and 30 shots on goals for a .536 shots-on-goal percentage.
King also secures a second-team honor for Orediggers after leading a defense that held opponents to a .101 shooting percentage and 1.10 goals per game. King and the mighty Mines defense registered 10 shutouts throughout the 2022 season. The Seattle, Wash., native currently ranks 25th in the nation with eight assists and 39th nationally for assists per game (.42).
Andrews earns first-team distinctions after captaining the Pack’s defense which holds opponents to .78 goals per game. Andrews also contributes to CSU Pueblo’s offense with three goals and two assists with a .565 shots-on-goal percentage.
Campora claims a third team nod after starting in 22 games for the ThunderWolves this season while recording 15 goals, which ranks 11th in NCAA Division II. The junior striker claimed his eighth game-winning goal weeks ago to push the Pack to a 1-0 win over Northwest Nazarene, cementing a spot in the NCAA DII Men’s Soccer Semifinals. He now ranks first in the nation with his eight game-winners and 15th nationally with 33 points.
Andrews and Campora each earn spots on the D2CCA roster while leading the ThunderWolves to the NCAA DII semifinals. The Pack will take on Barry University, starting at 2 p.m. PT, in Seattle, Wash., on Thursday, Dec. 1.
The D2CCA encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and work closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
