Doucette, Miller Earn RMAC Women’s Indoor Athlete of the Week Honors
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Western Colorado’s Katie Doucette and Colorado School of Mines’ Hannah Miller are the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, the league announced Wednesday.
Doucette earns her first RMAC Indoor Track Athlete of the Week honor of the season after a dominating performance in the mile last weekend at the Mines Winter Classic in Golden, Colo. She claimed her spot atop the podium after besting a field of 14 runners with a raw time of 4:56.99, which stands as a NCAA Division II provisional mark. When accounting for track size and altitude, Doucette’s time converts to 4:45.3 and ranks second in the nation.
The Mountaineers will split up this weekend to compete at the UNM Don Kirby Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., and the Ichabod Invitational in Topeka, Kan. The Don Kirby Invitational is a two-day event and is slated to take place Friday and Saturday. WCU student-athletes competing at the Ichabod Invitational will take part in the one-day meet, beginning on Saturday.
Miller takes RMAC Field Athlete of the Week honors after a strong outing in the pole vault at the Mines Winter Classic over the weekend. The Cypress, Texas, native continued her stay at the top of the RMAC with a first-place finish in her event, where she cleared the bar at 4.05m (13-03.5 feet). The finish also places her sixth in the nation and stands as a NCAA provisional mark.
Colorado School of Mines makes its way to Topeka, Kan., this weekend for the Ichabod Invitational, hosted by Washburn University.

Doucette finished first in the women's mile at the Mines Winter Classic last weekend, crossing the finish line with a time of 4:56.99. She currently holds the second-fastest mile time in the nation with the performance, which was converted to 4:45.3 following the race.

Miller remains the RMAC’s top women's pole vaulter this season, as evidenced by her performance at the Mines Winter Classic. She took first place after clearing 4.05m, which ties her for the nation’s sixth-best pole vault mark this season. Miller's latest performance fell just two centimeters shy of setting the Mines program record, which she also set.
