Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced its 2021-22 Women’s Swimming and Diving major award winners and all-conference rosters Thursday. Leading the way among major awards is Colorado Mesa’s Lily Borgenheimer and Colorado School of Mines’ Meghan Slowey as the Women’s Co-Swimmers of the Year. CMU’s Jolynn Harris is the Women’s Diver of the Year, while Kyra Apodaca and Olivia Kisow are the Women’s Co-Freshmen of the Year. Mines head coach Claire McDaniel completes the sweep by earning her second consecutive Women’s Coach of the Year award.
 
Borgenheimer and Slowey will share the Women’s Swimmer of the Year honor after successful seasons with their respective programs. Borgenheimer claimed a national title in the 200-yard breaststroke for the Mavericks this season in addition to earning six All-America honors. She advanced to the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in four individual events and finished among the top-10 in each discipline. After claiming seven RMAC titles, she was named the Women’s Swimmer of the Meet at the 2021-22 RMAC Swimming and Diving Championships.
 
Slowey also earns Swimmer of the Year distinctions after qualifying for the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships for the second consecutive year. She finished among the field’s top eight performers in the 1,650-yard event. Slowey also claimed a 12th-place finish in the 1,000 race to wrap a successful 2021-22 campaign.
 
Harris is the RMAC Diver of the Year after earning a pair of All-America honors at the 2021-22 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. She closed her stint at the national meet with a seventh-place finish on the one-meter board and an eighth-place finish on the three-meter board. The honor is just the latest for Harris, who was also named the RMAC Co-Diver of the Meet at the 2021-22 RMAC Swimming and Diving Championships.
 
CMU’s Apodaca and Mines’ Kisow share the Women’s Freshman of the Year honor after strong freshman seasons. Apodaca claimed two Second Team All-America honors for the Mavericks this season after a ninth-place finish in the three-meter dive and a 15th-place finish in the one-meter dive. Additionally, she claimed a pair of second-team all-conference nods for the Mavs with two bronze medals in the diving events at the RMAC championships.
 
Kisow earns her honor after performing on each of Mines’ A relay teams throughout the 2021-22 campaign. She earned a pair of second team all-conference nods in the 200-yard breaststroke and the 800-yard Freestyle Relay events.
 
McDaniel earns her second RMAC Women’s Coach of the Year accolade after coaching 16 women’s all-conference selections. She guided Slowey to an appearance at the 2021-22 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
 
Colorado Mesa leads the way with 48 all-conference selections, followed by Colorado School of Mines’ 18 honorees. Oklahoma Christian secures 10 spots, followed by Western Colorado’s seven recipients and Nebraska-Kearney’s one honoree.
