Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs’ Sawyer Brewster and Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Audrey Burt are the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, the league announced Tuesday.
 
Brewster claims Player of the Week distinctions for the first time this season after pushing the Mountain Lions to a 4-2 record last week following some impressive performances at the plate. In her six appearances, she secured 11 hits on 19 at-bats for a stellar .579 batting average. She drove in seven RBI and accounted for seven runs of her own while launching five extra-base hits, including a pair of home runs. After racking up 20 total bases, Brewster closed the week with a .636 on-base percentage. On the defensive side, the redshirt junior rang up five putouts and delivered five assists.
 
UCCS returns to the diamond this weekend for a four-game series on the road against Fort Lewis. The series gets underway with a doubleheader Saturday, April 2, beginning at noon MT on FLC’s Aspen Field in Durango, Colo.
 
Burt is the RMAC Pitcher of the Week for the first time this season after a trio of winning appearances in the circle for the Roadrunners last week, which helped her squad finish the week with a 5-1 record. The freshman served up 17 innings of work and fanned 10 batters in her three games. She allowed just one earned run and limited her opponents to a .215 batting average, improving her pitching record to 7-5 on the season.
 
MSU Denver is back in competition this weekend with a four-game series at home against Chadron State. The Roadrunners will open their series against the Eagles with a doubleheader Saturday, April 2, beginning at noon.
 
Softball Player of the Week: Sawyer Brewster, UCCS – R-Jr. – 3B – Burnsville, Minn.
Brewster registered a big week at the plate for UCCS, safely hitting in each of the Mountain Lion's six games for a .579 batting average. During the team's four-game sweep of Adams State over the weekend, Brewster reached base in 12 of her 14 plate appearances while hitting an incredible .818 with four RBI,  three doubles, three walks and one homer.
 
Softball Pitcher of the Week: Audrey Burt, MSU Denver – Fr. – P/UTIL – Highlands Ranch, Colo.
In three pitching appearances, Burt was 2-0 with an outstanding 0.41 earned-run average, recording 10 strikeouts over 17 innings while allowing 14 hits and three runs. She capped the week with a complete-game win over Black Hills State where she also hit the go-ahead homer in the top of the seventh inning, breaking a 1-1 tie. In a win over Colorado School of Mines, Burt earned a no-decision after allowing two runs on six hits in five innings. In her performance Saturday against Black Hills State, she pitched five innings of shutout relief, earning the win with four strikeouts. In Sunday's complete-game victory against the Yellow Jackets, she yielded one run on three hits while striking out five batters.
