Madison McGriff Named RMAC Women’s Lacrosse All-Academic Player of the Year

2022 RMAC Women’s Lacrosse All-Academic Release

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs’ Madison McGriff is the 2022 Rocky Mountain Athletic Women’s Lacrosse Academic Player of the Year, the league announced Monday alongside its All-Academic First Team and Academic Honor Roll. The RMAC All-Academic team is nominated and voted on by the league’s sports information directors.
 
McGriff claims the award with a 3.88 grade-point average as an inclusive elementary education major for the Mountain Lions. She currently ranks second in the RMAC in ground balls per game (2.2) and first in the league, 19th nationally, in save percentage (.462). The redshirt sophomore is making her debut on the RMAC All-Academic First Team. McGriff helped the Mountain Lions lock up the No. 3 seed at the upcoming 2022 RMAC Women’s Lacrosse Tournament.
 
A total of five institutions are represented among the first team with Regis accounting for a league-best four honorees. The Rangers are represented by Lucy Johnson, Kyleigh Peoples, Maya Quigley and Bailey Truex. UCCS nabbed three spots with McGriff, Natalie Church and Holly Sodomka. Kiley Davis and Regan Wentz earned spots for Colorado Mesa, while Averi Bosso and Rebecca Kiyokawa represent Fort Lewis. Colorado State University Pueblo earned one spot with Sedona Sargent.
 
Regis’ Johnson, Quigley and Truex were the lone student-athletes earning perfect 4.0 GPAs on the all-academic roster.
