DiFabio, Harpman Take Final RMAC Softball Weekly Awards
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Hannah DiFabio and Regis’ Kylie Harpman are the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, the league announced Tuesday.
DiFabio claims the final RMAC Player of the Week award after pushing the Roadrunners to a series sweep over Adams State. The freshman shortstop drove in seven RBI and blasted four extra-base hits throughout the series while accounting for nine runs of her own. She closed the weekend with a .538 batting average (7-for-13), a .538 on-base percentage and a 1.308 slugging percentage. DiFabio also stole four bases throughout the weekend and launched home runs in the series opener and series finale.
MSU Denver has now concluded the regular-season portion of its schedule and will now look ahead to postseason play at the 2022 RMAC Softball Tournament. The Roadrunners have earned the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament and will open their stay in Grand Junction, Colo., with a matchup against No. 5 University of Colorado Colorado Springs, which is slated for 12:30 p.m. (MT), at CMU Softball Field in Grand Junction, Colo.
Harpman racks up her fifth and final RMAC Pitcher of the Week honor of the season after earning a complete-game shutout win on the road over Fort Lewis in last weekend’s regular-season series finale. The freshman dealt out seven innings of work, allowing just four hits and no runs in the effort. She fanned six batters and limited the Skyhawks to a .160 batting average in her lone appearance of the series. Harpman now stands 19-7 on the year heading into postseason play.
Following Harpman’s stellar weekend, Regis has secured the No. 3 seed in the upcoming RMAC Softball Tournament and will take on sixth-seeded Fort Lewis in the opening round. First pitch between the Rangers and Skyhawks is slated for 10 a.m. Thursday, May 5, at CMU Softball Field in Grand Junction.
