DENVER, Colo. – Regis’ Lucy Johnson is the 2022 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Summit Award winner, the league announced Friday. The RMAC Summit Award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA that is also competing at the site of the finals for their sport’s championship.

Johnson claims the award as a senior health major, who holds a flawless 4.0 grade-point average for the currently unbeaten Rangers. She has accounted for 26 points on 20 goals and six assists this season while landing 38 of her 45 shots on frame. The Colorado Springs, Colo., native has forced seven turnovers throughout the 2022 campaign and picked up 11 ground balls for the Rangers. Her efforts have pushed the Rangers to a No. 3 national ranking ahead of the 2022 RMAC Women’s Lacrosse Tournament, which begins Friday, May 6, in Denver, Colo. The Rangers earned hosting duties after cruising through the 2022 season with a 12-0 record in RMAC play.

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be a sophomore or above, who have participated in their sport at their institution for at least two years. Student-athletes must be active members of their teams, traveling and competing at the RMAC championship event. Graduate students are not eligible to win the award. All GPAs are based on a straight-grading scale to ensure consistency among nominees. All ties are broken by the total number of credit hours completed through the most recently concluded semester.
