GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The 2022 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament field is set with postseason play slated to begin Wednesday, May 11, at 11 a.m. MT, inside the new Bus Bergman Sports Complex in Grand Junction, Colo. Colorado Mesa earned the tournament’s No. 1 seed and hosting duties after claiming the RMAC regular-season title with a 23-9 record in conference play. Wednesday’s tournament-opener features No. 2 seed Regis against fifth-seeded Colorado School of Mines.
Following game one between the Rangers and the Orediggers, second-seeded Metropolitan State University of Denver will take on No. 4 seed Colorado State University Pueblo in game two at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. Top-seeded Colorado Mesa will take on sixth-seeded University of Colorado Colorado Springs in Wednesday’s nightcap for game three, beginning at 7 p.m.
Second-round action begins Thursday, May 12, at 11 a.m., with game four and continues with game five at 3 p.m. and game six at 7 p.m. Day three picks up Friday, May 13, and contains three more contests, beginning at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Saturday’s championship matchup, game 10, is slated for a 1 p.m. start, but should the undefeated team lose, there will be an if-necessary game played that afternoon at 4:30 p.m. The winner of game 10, or the if-necessary game, will be crowned the 2022 RMAC Tournament Champion.
Should five teams remain following the conclusion of game five and two teams remain after game nine, the tournament bracket will be slightly altered. In this scenario, games seven, eight and nine will begin at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, on Friday. Saturday’s championship match will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the if-necessary game at 4:30 p.m., should it be necessary.
In a third scenario, if five teams remain after game five and three teams remain after game nine, the tournament schedule will proceed as follows. Game nine will be played on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by game 10 on Saturday at 1 p.m. and game 11 at 4:30 p.m.
