COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Leading up to the 2022-23 season, Colorado State University Pueblo is the favorite for the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Golf title, the league announced Wednesday. The ThunderWolves lead the way with 63 points and seven first-place votes in the 2022-23 RMAC Men’s Golf Preseason Poll. The RMAC Men’s Golf Preseason Poll is voted on by the league’s nine head coaches. Coaches are not permitted to vote for their program.

CSU Pueblo leads the way in preseason voting after a historic 2022 postseason run that saw the ThunderWolves qualify for the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship. The Pack has reloaded for the 2022-23 season and returns a trio of all-conference first-teamers in Matt Millar, Liam Duncan and Jamie Roberts from last year’s roster. Millar, Duncan and Roberts all placed among the top 15 individuals at the 2022 RMAC Men’s Golf Championships and were instrumental in the ThunderWolves’ historic postseason run.

Colorado Christian earns the second-place position in preseason voting with 53 points. The Cougars also return a trio of all-conference selections from last year’s team in Adam Duncan, Dylan Arthur and Zach Slayton. Duncan, Arthur and Slayton were key in helping CCU earn a third-place team finish at last season’s RMAC Championship. Xavier Bighaus also returns for Colorado Christian after placing fifth individually at last season’s conference tournament.

University of Colorado Colorado Springs stands third overall in the RMAC Preseason Poll with 49 points and a lone first-place vote. The Mountain Lions placed second as a squad at the 2022 RMAC Championship and return Barrett Jones, Brandon Bervig and Brady Haake who tied for 12th, 16th, and 21st, respectively, at last season’s conference championship.

Colorado Mesa garners 46 points and the league’s final first-place vote to claim fourth place. Fort Lewis sits fifth overall with 32 points, followed by Westminster in sixth with 29 points.

Colorado School of Mines (22 points), Regis (18 points) and South Dakota Mines (12 points) round out preseason voting in seventh, eighth and ninth place, respectively.

The 2023 RMAC Men’s Golf Championship is scheduled for April 23-25, at Boulder Creek Golf Club Las Vegas, Nev.
