Blaise Threatt and Adam Thistlewood Claim RMAC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado Mesa’s Blaise Threatt and Colorado School of Mines’ Adam Thistlewood are the week nine Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Players of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Threatt claims his first Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season after leading the Mavericks (14-3, 9-2 RMAC) to a pair of victories last weekend. The redshirt sophomore registered 26 points, six rebounds, and one steal Friday night in the Mavericks’ 80-69 road win over No. 3 Black Hills State. On Saturday, Threatt continued his success on the road by claiming 19 points, four assists, and four rebounds in a 69-60 victory over South Dakota Mines.
Colorado Mesa will continue its road trip on Friday, Jan. 20, at No. 15 Fort Lewis. Tipoff between the Mavericks and the Skyhawks is set for 7:30 p.m. MT inside Whalen Gymnasium in Durango, Colo.
Thistlewood claims RMAC Defensive Player of the Week for the first time this season after leading the Orediggers (16-1, 10-1 RMAC) to an unbeaten weekend. The forward registered 17 points, six rebounds, and two steals in Friday’s 93-61 win over Regis. Thistlewood then recorded his first double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds in the Orediggers’ 85-66 win over University of Colorado Colorado Springs on Saturday.
The Orediggers will travel to Denver, Colo., for a midweek matchup with Metropolitan State University of Denver on Tuesday, Jan. 17. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. inside Auraria Event Center.
Offensive Player of the Week: Blaise Threatt, Colorado Mesa – R-So. – G – Scottsdale, Ariz.
Threatt led the Mavericks’ offensive efforts last weekend when he combined 22.5 points per game, five rebounds and three assists per game while shooting 53 percent from the field. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native currently ranks sixth in the RMAC in points per game (16.9) and 13th in field goal percentage (.516). The Mavericks now hold a nine-game winning streak through the 2022-23 season.

Defensive Player of the Week: Adam Thistlewood, Colorado School of Mines – R-Sr. – F – Golden, Colo.
Thistlewood helped the Orediggers extend their winning streak to seven games with a pair of wins over the Rangers and Mountain Lions last weekend. The redshirt senior averaged 16 points and eight rebounds while shooting .478 from the field. Thistlewood currently ranks eighth in the league in total rebounds with (118) and defensive rebounds (88) on the season.
